NOTES

GENRE: Sci Fi

WORDS: The film is one of my favourites. Sometimes corny (and a little clunky) it is one of those things I come back to. It scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. The Omega Man is the second adaptation of Matheson’s novel. The first was The Last Man on Earth (1964), which starred Vincent Price and the third, I Am Legend (2007), starred Will Smith. Chuck is the best. The book is a great read though the mutants of the film are more like vampires in the book (as they are in the first and third films). The protagonist in the book also spends a lot of time burning bodies infected by the plague whereas in the film he spends a lot of time driving around in American muscle car convertibles. Cool.
